A child dreams
Of a world outside
Where stars sprinkle light
Through a darkened sky
And the bare tree
Waits to grow green again
Standing rooted in an earth
That spins steadily
Round the circle of time
From long dark nights
To sun-filled days.
Inside light glows
And warm decorations
Gleam cheerfully
In the prickly embrace
Of the evergreen boughs,
And still he gazes
And longs to be out
Among the peaceful trees
Under heaven’s glowing arc
Following a star path
Through the soft murmurs
And restless rustling
Of the night-bathed world
To a morning sunrise
Glowing with hope,
Illuminating beauty,
Anticipating the warmth
Of a day touched by love.

Such a lovely reminder of the deep sense of joy and wonder I felt as a child at this time of the year. Thank you, Margaret. 💜
It seems a year for memories, at least to me; and I’m glad my words reminded you of joy and wonder. That feels lovely.
Sending thoughts of joy and peace. 💜
And sending the same to you. 💜
Wishing you love and peace, Margaret, and brighter days ahead. 🕊💖
Wishing you love and peace too, Iris – and may there be brighter days ahead for all of us! 💖
