Suddenly I See

Suddenly I see, M. Mair, original art

Suddenly I See, Margaret Mair, original art

And suddenly I see
The young woman I knew
In the lift of your chin,
The tilt of your face.
There is more wisdom
In those eyes;
Your wrinkles now linger
Where your smiles
Grew them,
Where the lift of
Your quizzical eyebrows
Imprinted them;
Still I am happy
To glimpse again
Under the freight of years
The abiding grace of
Your youthful self.

  1. Lovely Margaret, a touching sense of time passing and yet our true natures staying the same.

    • This came to me as I was talking to my cousin and suddenly saw how the tilt of her head was as I remembered it from a time too long ago. Sometimes we see things that remind us that the more things change…

  2. Such deep wisdom and beauty, Margaret.
