I Fly

Butterfly, M. Mair, original art

Butterfly (for the missing), Margaret Mair, original art

I fly for the lost
And disappeared,
For those made to vanish,
For those who have
Perished at the hands
Of men who should
Have protected them;
For the captive and dying,
Their miserable fates
All hidden deep
As dark can be,
All unrecorded.
I fly for the left behind
Wondering, fearing
And grieving,
Praying only for
A wisp of hope.
I fly, I must
With heart ablaze
A flame to light
The fires of truth
And justice.

  1. I love this, Margaret. Your writing touches my heart with a trueness that feels as though you put many of my own feelings and thoughts into the words I couldn’t find by myself. Thank you, dearheart.

  2. Such hope amidst the darkness Margaret.
