Pool of Light

Pool of Light, M. Mair, original art

Pool of Light, Margaret Mair, original art

When the world falls over
The edge of the day
And slides into the softness
Of a violet dusk
We look into the darkness
Creeping down around us
To find a pool of light
That will comfort our eyes
And shine on the cold path
We walk here among
Trees with bare branches
That flowed with the wind
As they reached for the sun
From trunks bent and arced.
The unleafed trees rest now
In the deepest winter
Of their waiting season
Dreaming the return of
Sun and warmth and real light.
Deep in our selves
All unknowing
We dream with them.

  1. Exquisite poem and portrait, Margaret.

  2. This is so haunting and beautiful Margaret as we head into the winter dreaming season.
