When Worlds Meet

When Worlds Meet, M Mair, original art

When Worlds Meet, Margaret Mair, original art

Each little sphere
Tumbling through
The vastness of space
Sheds a snaky tail
Of gas and dust;
Each one of us
Tumbling through
Our little worlds
Shed words and thoughts
That linger
In our wake.
When they pass
Streaming gases and dust
Intermingle,
They orbit each other
Or strike explosively
Or fall away, apart;
When we pass
Words and thoughts
Commingle,
We accept each other
Or fight, inflamed,
Or turn away, apart.
In their passing
They remain
Separate;
In our passing
We remain
Separated.

  1. Meaningful reflection, Margaret. Nice art piece to complement your poem! Best wishes, Iris
