Beauty Blossoms…

Beauty Blossoms, Margaret Mair, Original art

Beauty Blossoms, Margaret Mair, Original art

Beauty blossoms
As a girl becomes
A young woman,
Graceful and elegant,
And a bud becomes
A lovely flower,
Delicately petaled
And richly coloured.
They light up
Our hurried lives,
Even when we
Pass inattentively by,
Buried in thought
And barely aware.
For
Hidden treasures lie
Almost underfoot
In the grass,
Little drops of colour
We do not look to see
That, having shared
Their simple beauty
And sweet nectar
Become seeds and fruit
That find root
And pass on
Their life and energy
To the next plant
That will bear
The next blossom,
And give sustenance
To restless creatures
Such as we.
