Nature’s Cathedral

Nature’s Cathedral, Margaret Mair, Original art

Branches arch
And tangle overhead.
Look – they frame
Whispering water sliding
Past wet grey rocks and
Steep grass-topped banks
And lean trees reaching
For the blue beyond.
Caught in a glance
These seem motionless
And luminous
Like parts of a picture
In a stained glass window.
Leaves shade and shelter,
Dapple ground below,
Offer quiet refuge
To those who pause
And look
And wonder.
Is this
Nature’s cathedral?
