For Theo, With Love

A year ago our first grandson, Theo, was born.  His time with us here was short, less than the passing of a morning.  In our hearts, he will be with us always.

His mother and father, our children, knew that his body was fragile.  They gave him the greatest gift they could – their unreserved love and care.  Love surrounded him during his short life; love was the legacy he left us.  Love is what we feel for him now and always will.

Poem for Theo

Butterfly
You fluttered
Lightly
By
Birthed
In love
You spread
Your wings
And
Flew away.
……..
I said goodbye
With a kiss
As light
As the butterfly
Your breath
Became.

Today, even more than usual, I hold you, your parents and all our family close in my heart.
